All About CBD

01

THE BASICS

CBD is the most abundant non-psychoactive (it WON’T get you high) cannabinoid found in cannabis, commonly consumed to support overall health and wellness. CBD also occurs in much lesser amounts in hemp’s cannabis cousin, marijuana, which is cultivated for its high THC content (DOES get you high). Hemp is a legal plant that the USDA defines as any Cannabis sativa L. variety containing THC concentrations of no more than 0.3%.

02

QUALITY AND PURITY

Our raw hemp extracts are sourced from industry leading, US based cGMP and Hemp Authority-certified CBD producers, using organically grown US hemp. Every batch of raw hemp extract goes through stringent testing by the highest rated third party laboratories for cannabinoid potency, pesti- cides, fungicides, heavy metals, microbial content, and mycotoxins (mold).

Full-Spectrum vs. Isolates:

It was previously believed that CBD in its isolated form was more potent and concentrated than full spectrum CBD; however a study at Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology researchers found mice administered full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate proved that the group administered with full spectrum CBD were provided with higher levels of relief. Furthermore, full spectrum CBD continued to provide relief as the dose increased.

03

RESEARCH

While there is definitely a wider range of full spectrum CBD benefits than CBD isolate benefits, it does not discredit the effectiveness of CBD Isolate. There are a wide variety of situations when CBD isolate would be preferred over Full Spectrum CBD. For example, you may not necessarily need the full capabilities of Full Spectrum CBD, or if you aren’t legally allowed to use even trace amounts of THC and don’t want to risk the isolated chance of testing positive on a random drug test. Milligram for milligram, isolates are normally a little less expensive than full spectrum, however, studies suggest higher doses may be needed. Our recommendation is that you experiment with both, as well as with dosage, to identify the best fit for you and what you are trying to achieve.

As researchers continue to study the marijuana plant, we will learn more and more about these amazing cannabinoids and what they can do for us.

OUR PRODUCTS

Our topicals are uniquely powerful, combining the soothing action of men- thol with high-strength CBD extract delivered via the amazing non-toxic organic compound, DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) for extra deep penetration.

We specialize in high-concentration CBD sublingual (under the tongue) tinctures (2000mg/oz) delivered via pump dispensers vs. the industry stan- dard of low-concentration dropper bottles. High concentration extract means less liquid to swallow, therefore more direct absorption, and less metabolic waste.

Our slim-line pump dispensers fit easily in your pocket and support micro- dosing, which is shown to be most beneficial to the body, delivering an accurate dose every pump, without the inconvenience and inaccuracy of counting drops using a mirror.

We offer tinctures in either full spectrum (full profile of constituents with 100+/- other constituents including up to .3% THC), or isolate (pure CBD with no THC). Both options are delivered via organic hempseed or organic coconut MCT oil respectively, and are flavored with natural, organic flavors.

We do offer a lower strength tincture (1000mg/oz) suitable for pets or for treating anxiety. We also offer CBD capsules to conveniently add to pill packers, as well as high strength (30mg) isolate-based CBD night time gummies with melatonin as a gentle, natural, and highly effective sleep aid.

We also offer an effective ointment for eczema, psoriasis, and other au- toimmune based skin conditions, as well as massage oils and butters.

Here at Source Code we believe strongly in the power of nature in all its forms. In addition to high quality CBD, we utilize over 20 therapeutic essential oils as well as organic oils, butters, and botanical extracts when consciously crafting our topical pain relieving and skin treatment formulations.

Is CBD Legal?

Due to research suggesting CBD’s ability to naturally treat dozens of chronic conditions, the demand for Cannabidiol (CBD) has skyrocketed. As the popularity of the hemp-derived compound has begun to shift, so has the acceptance in many states across America. While we are definitely moving in the right direction, the legality of CBD as a whole is still very unclear due to different laws in different states, and even different laws at state and federal level. Because of this, many are deterred from using CBD, and instead of gaining the benefits of CBD, they’re stuck wondering: “Is CBD legal?” To answer this question, it’s not exactly straightforward. While it’s true that CBD is legal in all 50 states, there are situations when it isn’t legal. The difference between legal and illegal typically depends on several important factors determined by the state in question. There is, however, one very important factor that is a crucial determinant across all states, and that is where the CBD is derived from–hemp or marijuana. Now, marijuana and hemp are both members of the cannabis family, so they do share a lot of characteristics. There is, however, a crucial difference between the two–the amount of psychoactive Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) each plant produces. While marijuana can contain up to 30% THC, hemp contains no more than 0.3% THC. In other words, marijuana can get you really high, while hemp has such a low amount of THC, that it would be impossible to get high off it. Because our extracts come from hemp instead of marijuana, we can and do ship nationwide, and no medical marijuana card is needed, however, you are responsible for ensuring there are no restrictions for particular jurisdictions.

Safety and Efficacy

CBD is well-tolerated, even in large doses. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential… To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

You should always consult with your doctor before starting or continuing to use CBD as a therapeutic remedy when using or starting use of pharmaceu- ticals drugs. CBD, like the enzyme in grapefruit, can increase or reduce the efficacy of certain pharmaceutical drugs.

How does CBD support the body?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound with enormous therapeutic potential. Our CBD is derived from agricultural hemp and is a plant-based, ’phyto-cannabinoid’, while the body naturally pro- duces ‘endo-cannabinoids’ within the EndoCannabinoid System, or ECS. CBD should not be confused with THC – from Marijuana, which has a psy- choactive effect, or hempseed oil, which contains neither CBD nor THC.

The ECS plays a critical role in the regulation of physiological and cognitive processes throughout the body for optimal function and performance. The ECS regulates sleep, mood, motor control, immune function, pleasure, pain, and memory, to name a few.

When toxins, illness, dietary deficiencies, or other factors throw the body’s balance off, CBD supplementation supports the ECS to make more endo- cannabinoids so the body can do what it is designed to do – regain and maintain balance. That is why CBD is effective across such a broad range of medical concerns.

CBD is proven to have strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-spas- modic, anti-convulsant, anti-psychotic, anti-humoral, anti-tumoral, and neuro-protective properties. CBD directly activates serotonin receptors, causing a natural anti-depressant effect. In addition, CBD supplementation can naturally lower cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and is a bron- chodilator – all through its modulating action.

CBD and Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is generally neuropathic or centralized. Neuropathic pain is caused by damage to nerves, which send inaccurate pain messages to the brain.

Centralized pain is the result of amplified pain signals due to central nervous system dysfunction.

CBD interacts within the ECS by supporting the body in modulating pain signaling through reducing sensitivity and inflammation. In a basic sense, CBD re- duces chronic pain by rebalancing malfunctioning pain signals, vs. masking

important pain signals that safeguard against further damage.
